Secretary – Brandy

Brandy Lockridge, MA., MS.

Child Development Specialist and Family Life Educator for Head Start, Inc.. She has dedicated her research to examining chronic sorrow and the effects of parenting children with rare diseases/syndromes and family systems.

James, joined CMTC Alliance in 2012, as a board member after the passing of her daughter Makenna Caroline who was diagnosed with M-CM in 2008. Her work has expanded beyond CMTC Alliance into other organizations that assist families who have children with multiple syndromes, especially those concerning brain and vascular malformations. James also participates in the National Hydrocephalus Association 5K run each year in honor of her angel Makenna Caroline.

In addition to her research on chronic sorrow and ambiguous loss, James conducts research on the experiences of families with a child diagnosed with varying overgrowth syndromes, particularly the resilience and financial challenges experienced by parents.

James received bachelor’s degrees from Ball State University in psychology and human development sciences, and master’s degrees in counseling from Chapman University and Public Health from University of Missouri. She is currently pursing doctoral studies in Family Sciences.
